Roofing Services in Peterborough

Free, no-obligation roofing quotes across Peterborough, Stamford, Spalding, Wisbech and Huntingdon.

Pick the job that matches what your roof is doing and send one enquiry. It goes to an independent roofing firm working in your part of Peterborough or the towns around it, and that firm contacts you, looks at the roof and gives you its own price. Whether you accept it is entirely your decision.

Roof Replacement & Re-Roofing — Stripping and re-covering a roof that has reached the end of its life, from the concrete interlocking tile on the 1970s and 80s estates to Collyweston stone slate in the limestone villages. More on roof replacement and when it beats another repair.

Roof Repairs — Slipped or cracked tiles, leaks, loose ridges and verges, lead flashing and storm damage, found and put right before the water reaches a ceiling. Our roof repairs page includes storm damage.

Flat Roofing — Garage, porch and extension roofs in felt, GRP or EPDM rubber, patched where a patch will hold and renewed where the deck underneath has gone soft. The flat roofing page explains the choice between them.

Chimney Repairs — Repointing, new flashing, capping, and taking down stacks that no longer serve a fire, on the brick chimneys of the older streets and villages. See chimney repairs for what each job involves.

Guttering, Fascias & Soffits — Dripping joints, sagging runs, and the original timber fascias and soffits on estate houses, repaired where they can be and replaced in uPVC where they cannot. The page on guttering, fascias and soffits covers gutter clearing too.

Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal — Moss lifted off by hand and scraper, a treatment to slow its return, and the gutters cleared once the roof is done. Read how roof cleaning should be done before you book it.

Two Kinds of Roof You Find Round Here

Much of the city was built as a New Town after 1967, and a great many township roofs went on within a couple of decades of each other, so they are now ageing together. Our section on estate roofs explains what that looks like and when re-roofing makes more sense than another repair, and the section on garage roofs covers the felted flat roofs beside so many of those houses. West of the city, in the limestone villages and in Stamford, older houses are often covered in Collyweston stone slate, which is laid, mended and consented in its own way.

Jobs Outside Our List

Some requests fall outside what we handle, and saying so here saves everyone a wasted phone call. We are not a roofing supplies merchant or stockist, so we cannot sell or order tiles, felt or timber for you. We do not cover chimney sweeping, and we do not pass on enquiries for pressure-washing tiled roofs, which tile manufacturers advise against. Conservatory roofs and roof lanterns belong to the glazing trade and are off our list, as are car roof boxes and roof racks, and industrial sheeting on commercial units. Nor are we a jobs board: nobody here employs roofers, and there are no vacancies to apply for.

Before You Compare Quotes

Ask each roofer what their price assumes about access, which materials it names, and what happens if rotten battens turn up once the tiles come off. Those three answers explain most of the gap between two prices for the same job. Our guide on how to choose a roofer lists the other checks worth making, including who carries the responsibility if a roofer is hurt while working on your house.

Cost Guides

Prices live in three guides, because a figure on a service page says very little about your own roof. For researched UK ranges, see roof repair costs, what a new roof costs and flat roof replacement cost. If the damage followed a storm, read roof leaks and home insurance before any permanent work begins.

Tell us about the roof once, and a local roofer takes it from there.

Roofing Peterborough is an introduction service: your enquiry goes to an independent local roofer, who quotes you themselves. We do no roofing ourselves and we do not inspect or approve the roofer. How we are paid.
