About Roofing Peterborough

Free, no-obligation roofing quotes across Peterborough, Stamford, Spalding, Wisbech and Huntingdon.

Roofing Peterborough is an enquiry service for homeowners, landlords and tenants in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and the towns and villages around it. It is not a roofing company. We take a description of a roofing job and pass it to an independent local roofing firm that can quote for it. The rest of this page explains how that works and what it means for you.

How It Works

  • You say what the roof is doing. Ring 01733 592054 or fill in the quote form with whatever you can see: a leak, slipped tiles, a sagging gutter, a chimney that worries you.
  • We send it to a local firm. Your details and your description go to an independent roofing firm that works in your area.
  • They quote you direct. The firm gets in touch, arranges to see the roof and gives you its own written price. From then on you deal with them, and you are free to turn the quote down or set it beside others.

What Stays Outside Our Role

Nobody at Roofing Peterborough climbs a ladder, sells materials or carries out any roofing work.

We also do not inspect or approve the firms we pass enquiries to, and it would be misleading to let a tidy website suggest otherwise. What we can do is show you how to check them yourself. Our guide on how to choose a roofer walks through Buy With Confidence, the approved-trader scheme run locally by Peterborough City Council's Trading Standards, along with insurance certificates, written quotes, payment terms and your cancellation rights.

Nor can we promise when a roofer will visit, because that is the roofer's diary to manage. Send an enquiry outside working hours and you will get a call back on the next working day.

Who Pays Us

The roofing firm may pay us a fee for the introduction. You owe us nothing at any stage. The price you are quoted is set by the roofing firm, and it is the firm you pay if you go ahead. Our referral marketing disclosure sets the arrangement out in full.

What a Local Roofer Should Recognise

Roofs in this part of the country fall into a few distinct groups, and a roofer who recognises which one they are looking at tends to quote the right job first time. The New Town townships, built from 1970 onwards, hold a great many roofs of a similar age, typically concrete interlocking tile with mortar-bedded ridges and verges, often with a felted flat roof over the garage or extension. The older streets near the city centre have brick chimneys and slate or clay tile. The limestone villages to the west, and Stamford beyond them, carry stone slate that is mended in its own way, often inside a conservation area.

The area pages on this site describe each of those as plainly as we can, so you know what to ask about before anyone goes up a ladder. They say what the roofs are, not what any particular firm will charge.

Who Uses Us

People with a leak and no roofer to ring. Landlords with rented houses in Millfield or New England who need a fault priced without standing in the garden themselves. Owners of older houses in the conservation villages who want someone used to stone and lime. Anyone who would rather send one enquiry than spend an afternoon phoning round and leaving messages.
