Roofers Across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire

Free, no-obligation roofing quotes across Peterborough, Stamford, Spalding, Wisbech and Huntingdon.

Roofing Peterborough passes enquiries from the city, its villages and the market towns around it to independent roofing firms that work those places. The list reaches over the county line into South Lincolnshire and North Northamptonshire, because the roofers people ring from Stamford or Oundle are often the same ones working in the city. Each place below has its own page describing the roofs you will actually find there.

Peterborough City Districts and Townships

Millfield & New England · Fletton & Woodston · Dogsthorpe & Eastfield · Longthorpe & West Town · Bretton · Orton · Werrington & Walton · Paston & Gunthorpe · Stanground · Hampton

Peterborough was designated a New Town in 1967. The townships that followed, Bretton from 1970 and then Orton from the mid-1970s, gave the city a large number of roofs of much the same age. Nearer the centre are older terraces and inter-war semis, while Hampton is a later generation of housing, built from the late 1990s on former brickfields.

Peterborough Villages

Castor & Ailsworth · Barnack & Helpston · Eye · Thorney

West of the city lie limestone villages where older houses may carry stone slate; Castor, Ailsworth, Barnack and Helpston each have a conservation area. To the east, Eye sits on the edge of the fen, and Thorney is the planned estate village that the Duke of Bedford rebuilt from 1849.

Wansford

Wansford

Wansford straddles two districts. The part south of the Nene falls within Huntingdonshire, and the rest lies in the City of Peterborough. On the ground it is one village, so it has one page here.

South Kesteven, Lincolnshire

Stamford · Market Deeping & Deeping St James · Bourne

Stamford was designated in October 1967 as Britain's first conservation area, and Collyweston slate is still a common sight on its stone streets. The Deepings pair stone-built old centres with large later estates, and Bourne is a market town with a mix of both.

South Holland, Lincolnshire

Spalding

A fen market town with a Georgian centre and big post-war estates around it.

Fenland, Cambridgeshire

Whittlesey · Wisbech

Whittlesey has an older core of brick and clay tile ringed by post-war housing. Wisbech has the Georgian houses of the North Brink, where Peckover House has stood since about 1722, and newer estates beyond.

Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire

Yaxley & Farcet · Huntingdon

Yaxley and Farcet sit just south of Hampton, with post-war estates around older village cores. Huntingdon is a market town that expanded from the 1960s.

North Northamptonshire

Oundle

A limestone market town on the Nene, where stone slate turns up on the older buildings.

Your Village Isn't Listed?

If you live between two of these places, send the enquiry anyway. The firms taking our enquiries work the villages in between, and if nobody covers your address we will say so rather than leave you waiting.

Roofing Peterborough is an introduction service: your enquiry goes to an independent local roofer, who quotes you themselves. We do no roofing ourselves and we do not inspect or approve the roofer. How we are paid.
