Information We Collect

From enquiry forms. Your name, phone number, email address, postcode and what you tell us about the roof. The quote form also asks about the type of job, how urgent it is, the roof covering and whether the property is listed or in a conservation area.

From phone calls. We use a call-tracking service. When you ring a number shown on this site, the service logs the number you called from, the date, time and length of the call, and the page or source that led you to call. Calls may be recorded so that your enquiry can be passed on accurately and so that any disagreement about what was said can be resolved.

The number you see may vary. The call-tracking service can show a different phone number depending on how you reached the site, for example from a search result or from a link on another website. Every one of those numbers reaches the same enquiry line.

Technical data. Our web host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure. The call-tracking script may place a cookie or similar identifier in your browser so that it can show the right number and connect a call or form to the page that led to it. The site uses no advertising cookies and no separate analytics service.

How Form Enquiries Are Handled

When you send a form, it is processed by a script on this website's own domain and delivered to us by email. We then pass the details to the independent roofing firm covering your area. The call-tracking service may also record that a form was sent, along with its contents, so that we can see which pages lead to enquiries.

Why We Use Your Data, and Our Lawful Basis

We use your details to pass your enquiry to a roofing firm that can quote for it, and to deal with any follow-up about that enquiry. Our lawful basis for this is that you have asked us to do it: the processing is necessary to provide the service you requested. Call-tracking records and server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interests in running the service, keeping it secure and understanding which pages bring enquiries in.

Who Receives Your Details

The independent roofing firm covering your area receives your name, contact details and description of the job. Once it has them, it holds them as a separate controller under its own privacy arrangements. Our call-tracking provider and our web host process data for us, on our instructions. We do not sell your details, and we share them with nobody else unless the law requires it.

How Long Your Details Are Kept

Enquiry records are kept for twelve months after the enquiry and then deleted. Call recordings are deleted after three months at the latest.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and ask for data you gave us in a portable format. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
